NCDVD has a unique mission in the Church: To promote priestly vocations by supporting diocesan vocation directors in their work.
We are a professional membership organization. Our membership is comprised of priests, religious brothers and sisters, and lay people who work in the vocation offices of Roman Catholic dioceses. Their responsibilities generally include promotion of the priesthood, assessment of candidates, and formation of seminarians. NCDVD's role is to ensure that these vocation directors are competent and effective, and that they find joy and spiritual fulfillment in their work.
Embracing a theology of priesthood that is consistent with the teachings, practices, and disciplines of the Catholic Church, NCDVD provides our members training opportunities and a fraternal support network, as well as advocacy on their behalf with the hierarchy and across the spectrum of Catholic culture.

Fr. Jacques-Luc Bakinde Bakouba (of the Archdiocese of Douala in Cameroon) and Cardinal Keeler. Established in 1958, we represent nearly every diocese in the United States, as well as a handful in Canada, the United Kingdom, and Australia.
While NCDVD is an independent not-for-profit corporation, we work in concert with the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops' Committee on Vocations, serving in consultative capacity to that body. We provide essential services to all bishops through the training and resources we offer for vocation directors - especially those newly appointed to their offices. To our knowledge, these services are available nowhere else in the Church.
We eagerly partner with key Catholic groups, parishes, individuals, and foundations desiring to enrich the vocation fields of Christ's Church.
