Our Mission
The National Conference of Diocesan Vocation Directors promotes diocesan priesthood, providing resources for the formation, support, and advocacy of diocesan vocation directors as they work within the Catholic Church to foster a culture of vocations, raising up new priests for the Body of Christ.Become a Member
There’s no other organization in the Church like NCDVD. Our services are focused exclusively on ensuring that diocesan vocation directors are competent and effective and that they find joy and spiritual fulfillment in their work as they guide men in discerning their call to be priests. Indeed, our members tell us that they get two supreme benefits from their participation on NCDVD: Good advice on what works and the support of friends and colleagues in this challenging ministry. We’re primarily an organization of the American Church. Thus, our services and benefits are geared toward those who serve in dioceses and eparchies that are under the auspices of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. However, vocation directors from abroad enjoy significant benefits of membership as well.
There are a number of ways to be a member of NCDVD
Regular membership is open to all Catholic dioceses and eparchies in the United States associated with the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. In addition to receiving all the services of NCDVD, regular member dioceses are entitled to hold an elected office and will have one vote in all of the affairs of the Conference requiring such action.
Affiliate membership is open to priestly vocations personnel who are members of religious communities, seminary rectors and other seminary personnel involved in the formation of seminarians, Catholic colleges and institutes with programs of priestly discernment or formation. Affiliate members receive all of the services of NCDVD but are not entitled to hold office nor have a vote in the business of the Conference.
Associate membership is available to Catholic dioceses outside of the United States. Associate members receive all of the services of NCDVD but are not entitled to hold office nor have a vote in the business of the Conference.
Friends membership is for non-vocations individuals and organizations who wish to support the work of NCDVD through a prayer and an annual financial donation. Friends receive materials and correspondence from the Conference and have access to the website.
