“Do you find him to be worthy?”: Engaging in the Formation Process as Vocation Director

June 1, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. EST – Rev. Brian Buettner

While many people are responsible for the priestly formation of a seminarian, it is only the Vocation Director that stands before the bishop and testifies if a man is ready for Holy Orders, speaking on behalf of many others. Therefore, it is important for the Vocation Director to be an active member of the formation team. This webinar will focus on strategies to properly engage the seminarian throughout the process so when the day of his ordination arrives, the Vocation Director can be confident that his testimony is true.

Rev. Brian Buettner

Rev. Brian Buettner graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Science in Zoology and Biomedical Science and minored in History and Chemistry in 2006. He completed the Pre-Theology Program at Conception Seminary College in 2009, received a STB from the Gregorian University in 2012, and a STL in Moral Theology and Bioethics from the Angelicum University in 2016. After his priestly ordination in 2013, he served as the  parochial vicar of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetu al Help in OKC and was chaplain of Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School. He has also served as the pastor  of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and St. Mary’s  Catholic School in Lawton, Oklahoma and is currently the pastor of St. Joseph’s Old Cathedral and Vocations Director for the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City and serves as Member-at-Large on the NCDVD Executive Board.
